What Shows Were On TCC?

Does Anyone Know What Shows Were On TCC? I Can't Remember. Hmr 16:37, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Lots here. BillyH 19:41, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Thank You!

There were lots more than the ones listed in this wikipedia page. I remember "California Raisins", "Plastic Man", "Shazam" (a genie), and "Sweet Valley High". Yes, and "Round the Twist" (kind of a "Twilight Zone" for kids). There were self produced shows like "Head2Head" (where two people competeted in a video game on tv) too. I know there are lots more I don't recall the name of right now. I've been looking for something I think was called "Into the Labyrinth", which I think was aired on TCC, but these kinds of things are ludicrusly difficult to find. Was "Jack in the Box" the series where some kids ran around finding miniature towers of piza or something with question marks beneath btw? Ace1013 84.210.31.171 02:22, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, and "Captain N, The Game Master"! How could they miss that! That was on TCC, right? Wasn't "Megaman" a series of its own too? And I know there was "Super Mario World", because I remember the title song. I think that ran on TCC too ('Super Mario World... You've got to move fast... Super Mario World... It's a blast! Mario and Luigi, are doing what they can, to stop the evil Coopas, from their evil plaaaan...Super Mario, SuperMario, Super Mario. World'). Ace1013 84.210.31.171 02:41, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Eutelsat?

"(This segment was not at first available on some cable networks which continued to take a feed from Eutelsat that continued to end at 5pm.)"

I think this should be Intelsat rather than Eutelsat. The Children's Channel was broadcast from Intelsat 504/511/604 at 27.5° west since its inception (11.013 H, audio subcarrier 6.65) - initially time-sharing with the subscription movie channel Premiere. It later moved to 11.135 H, audio carrier 6.60 for English and 7.38 for Dutch when Intelsat 601 was commissioned. Karsini 00:17, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Head 2 Head Precursor

I remember there was a show that TCC made before it was replaced by Head 2 Head, where they had challenges solely on Super Mario Bros games (SMB3 was released in a later series), but the whole show was Mario themed, it had a Mario set and the presenter dressed like Luigi. But can anyone remember the name of the show at all? I'ts been bugging me for years--Guru Larry (talk) 08:01, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Original research

It is largely cited in UK animation circles... ...in which case it should be easy to cite this. And the list of programmes needs references too. ➲ redvers throwing my arms around Paris 19:33, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

I agree, I don't think that some of these shows were aired on TCC at all, they were on Sky One instead. Examples being Teenage Mustant Hero Turtles, Heathcliff and MASK. Also, Jetix is completely unrelated to TCC so I don't see why it needs to be mentioned here. Karsini (talk) 20:04, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Re-launch?

In the box on the right hand side it says TCC will be relaunched on 1st May 2010. There have been many revisions but this has not been fixed. This was added by a guest (IP address). There does not seem to be any other material on the web or in the article to verify this. A hoax? Or can someone from Virgin Media Television clear this up and say it is real but it should not have been announced yet? PhilipB (talk) 17:29, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

I've removed this piece of vandalism. I heard about it on the Digital Spy forums, and everyone suspects it was an April Fool gag, despite being added on March 15. Digifiend (talk) 17:30, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Since 17 August 2010, every single edit has been vandalism, mostly adding the myth that it is relaunching in November. I tried to bring this up with "requests for page protection" but the request was denied as being "unjustified". Ridiculous. 82.152.214.154 (talk) 18:13, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
I see it happened again the next day by the same user. Quelle surprise. 82.152.214.154 (talk) 14:18, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
I don't think it is unprotected anymore; now only logged-in users can edit because the case was reviewed and agreed on. EpicWikipedian (talk) 07:04, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Dutch feed

If you used the alternative audio track (7.02 MHz, I believe), you got Dutch announcers for the upcoming programmes, and all commercials were "dubbed" with the TCC signature. I can't find any references to the Dutch version in the article, nor any web references to it. \\// Peter krefting (talk) 12:56, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

I remember this but I think the subcarrier was 7.38 MHz, as the English audio used 6.50 in mono and 7.02/7.20 stereo. Karsini (talk) 22:09, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

Broadcast hours

The article mentions broadcast hours to 18:00, and then opening on Astra and only broadcasting to mid-day. However, on 45°W, it was broadcasting (clear) 18:00 every day, with no shared transponder. That feed continued to broadcast to 18:00, even after the Astra version moved to 1C and broadcasted to 20:00. I don't have any (web) references for either, though, so I'd rather not edit the page. \\// Peter krefting (talk) 12:56, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

I was hoping someone could add the cartoon "Blue, Child of the Earth" to the list. I know and have seen a lot of people looking for this, and it would make it easier if it was on the TCC list of programs. It is French and the original title is "Bleu, l'enfant de la Terre". [1] [2]

Aszal (talk) 21:26, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Thanks for the suggestion! However, IMDB doesn't say this program aired on TCC, and the second link is just an image. If we have a reliable source which says that Bleu aired on TCC, we can certainly add it! If you find one, feel free to re-enable the requested edit template, and someone will be by to put it in! Thanks!   — Jess· Δ 16:55, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

The Children's Channel - TCC (Original) 1984-1998

86.41.20.249 (talk) 17:33, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

You've been constantly adding false information to this article for several years now. The whole reason the article has been protected is because of YOU. Adding false information (like bogus claims that the channel is coming back on a certain date in the future) is vandalism. Why on earth do you keep doing this? TCC is NOT coming back. If that ever changes and a Reliable Source backs it up - like a proper newspaper, not one of the many threads you've started on the Digital Spy forums - then that information will be added. Until then, you really do seem to be wasting both your own and everyone else's time. Bonusballs (talk) 18:23, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

No. This is the exact nonsense vandalism you have been spraying across this article for several years now. TCC is closed and is not coming back. (The reason this article is semi-protected so that you cannot edit it, is because of YOUR vandalism.) There is no evidence whatsoever of any plans to restart the channel. If that ever changes, then it will be reported by reliable sources and noted in this article. Until then, you can add (Original) and (Returns) and (Revival TBA) across all the articles you like, those edits will be treated as the vandalism they are, and removed. Please stop.
