This movie is more complex than the plot summary. If you've read Poe's "William Wilson", you'd recognize the plot and idea of doppelgangers from the excerpt at the start of the film. The mirror images of the "real" characters seem envious of their "real" counterparts. For some reason, the doppelgangers are able to break through the mirror; from there, they systematically begin to establish themselves outside of the looking glass, so to speak, essentially killing their counterparts and taking over their lives. The main character realizes that she is the doppelganger and she has in essence killed herself, committed suicide. She mourns her loss, briefly, and then continues to live her counterpart's life as though nothing happened. When her brother looks at her at the end of the movie, the scene is remiscent of Invasion of the Body Snatchers with Donald Sutherland. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.171.42.252 (talk) 18:48, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
