the "Oh!" that the New Jersey cops say is a reference to something also, but I can't remember exactly what. who can ? perhaps it's Andrew Dice Clay ?

Switches of East Face

What does that refer to? Chief Wiggum says it when arresting Sideshow Bob, is it some kind of reference to the censored Southpark Episode (East Face somehow Mohammed, switches like the fact, that Mohammed was not actually shown in the episode?). Voice of Walt Warren

At simpsons.wikia.com it says that David Cross voices Walt Warren but I have some doubt; Cross is not named in the credits of the episode. The voice is kind of a Jimmy Stewart parody; I would have guessed Hank Azaria. Mathew5000 (talk) 18:49, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

OK. Firstly, do not call us a crap hole site. Every wiki makes mistakes and as there is no definite source and this is the first time it has been brought to my attention, I am looking into it. I have had a brief look and can't find a source for David Cross so it is a disputed thing. I'm sorry but every wiki makes mistakes, especially Wikipedia, and we are also prone to them. After looking into it, I have only found one source that states his voice actor. It is apparently Kelsey Grammer as well. Source is TV Rage however, I guess it is unreliable due to being on Wikipedia's blacklist of spam as it will not allow me to post it. Solar Dragon (talk) 21:01, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

It couldn't have been Kelsey Grammer doing the voice of Walt Warren. That would make no sense. (Of course it was Grammer at the beginning of the episode, when the character of Walt Warren was first introduced, because that wasn't the real Walt Warren but Sideshow Bob pretending to be Walt Warren.) Does "windup gag" exist?

Briguy52748 inserted the phrase "windup gag" in this article a while back. Where does this phrase come from? When searching for "windup gag" or "wind-up gag" I have only been able to find four relevant examples anywhere:

1. The Slick Chick, which Briguy52748 created.
2. One mention in a 1981 book on the Warner Bros. cartoon shorts. I am not familiar with the short in question so do not know whether the book uses the phrase in the way Briguy52748 does.
3. A blog on cartoons.
4. One Usenet message.

(For all I know the same person wrote 1, 3, 4, and even 2.)

That's it. The few other uses of the phrase I can find a) deal with a magic trick of some kind, b) discuss wind-up toys, or c) are taken from this article. It does not appear in Merriam-Webster, either. In any case, even if it turns out to be some well-established bit of slang among cartoon fans, we should be careful about using it in a Wikipedia article without the usual criteria of reliable sources verifying the phrase's existence and defintion.YLee (talk) 22:04, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

After reading the text, I believed that the phrase windup-gag refers to the last event of the show. The phrase probably derives from the vaudeville era, meaning to conclude a performance.--Auric (talk) 01:01, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

The meaning is clear from the context. My question was whether this phrase was something Briguy created on his own. He never responded to my request on his Talk page for information. Ylee (talk) 07:27, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
