Kooper Edit edit

I removed this sentence - "Kooper had formed his own band and played at the festival as well." - from the paragraph concerning the Monterey festival as Al did not play there. Kooper helped "Chip" Monck in arranging for gear for the event along with some other administrative duties. He did play at a smaller festival at Big Sur following Monterey. I do have a reference for this information, but not with me at this time. I will update the information with a source shortly.THX1136 (talk) 18:27, 22 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Did the edit on Kooper concerning Monterey. Also removed this sentence - "At Monterey, Kooper performed with members of the Butterfield Blues band (Elvin Bishop) and Harvey Brooks, bassist for the Electric Flag." - as there is no mention of him doing so in his autobiography even though he goes into some detail about his role at the festival itself. He did play at the Big Sur Folk Festival that took place soon after Monterey with Jim Fielder and Sandy Konikoff, but not with any members of the Electric Flag. If this is in error due to someone else having a reliable source to the contrary, please fee l free to revise citing the source.THX1136 (talk) 23:26, 28 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

I just accidentally stumbled into a two-hour youtube video of Monterey Pop Festival (1967) of footage that was not included in D.A. Pennebaker's film of the festival. Al Kooper did perform with Harvey Brooks on bass guitar. Al played a keyboard and sang. His performance is more toward the beginning of the video. And then I noted that he did not perform with The Blues Project (Flute Thing). Check out the video to confirm, please.Dli04b (talk) 15:23, 19 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
