Early years
Some of the information is inaccurate for the early years of The Bill - I have recently seen these episodes on YouTube:
The first 2 seasons (11/12 episodes) each episode was approximately 52 mins (1 hour slot)
- small sets with hand held cameras
- C.A.D., custody office, & front desk are combined and are located a short distance from the front door which opens straight onto the street.
Then for season 3 (12 episodes) each episode was approximately 52 mins (1 hour slot)
- they moved to brand new, larger sets (no explaination given, supposed to be the same station)
- C.A.D. & custody office moving away from the front desk, which is now beside the front door, which has moved about 1 metre back from the street.
Then season 4 onwards each episode was approximately 26 mins (30 minute slot)
- Cast changes (mostly senior officers) without explainations.
Anyone any theories on the changes and can the episode lengths be updated

- Have you managed to find any sources confirming your claims? Always come prepared when requesting to make controversial changes. We can better assist you then.Rain the 1 22:04, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
- The changes to the set are mentioned in the "Filming locations" section—the show had to move after the second series due to the proximity to the Wapping dispute. The running times of early episodes are in one of the Bill books which is already used as a reference but I will confirm this. Are you talking about the running time mentioned in the infobox? --Canley (talk) 22:11, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
