Merger-proposal edit

This page and the page Ten Bulls are two pages of almost identical text. They ought to be merged. Which would be the better name? "Ten bulls", with a lowercase bull, is more in keeping in wikipedia standards, if I have it right, no? Pfly 08:51, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Cat Stevens edit

In popular culture, Cat Steven's "Catch Bull at Four" is a successfully album referencing the ox herding pictures. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catch_bull_at_four —Preceding unsigned comment added by RiceMilk (talkcontribs) 18:36, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

External Links edit

http://dharmafarer.org/wordpress/ should point to http://www.themindingcentre.org/dharmafarer. This might be needed else where also hence it might be good to get a bot to do the URL change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sirinath (talkcontribs) 15:07, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Drunkenness in the tenth edit

In the past I've often read the tenth as not just "Barefooted and naked of breast" or "ragged and barefoot" but DRUNK. There may be an idiom involved here rather than literal translation, but it's at very least suggested, historically, and very important, I would argue, because it's about not being judgmental of human sources of enlightenment, EVEN WHEN THE PERSON IS SEEMINGLY BREAKING PRECEPTS! I suspect there's revisionism here by some in the Buddhist community. I'm not actually interested in a discussion here, I am done with sniping and edit wars that are so common here on Wikipedia. I do want to bring this up for others to make edits or debate the merits of my argument. Thank you. 75.71.166.197 (talk) 20:21, 7 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Nine mental abidings edit

This is a completely different formulation of meditation, removed this and put it back to the samatha page.Javier F.V. 20:17, 21 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
