Telmisartan is an ARB, should be mentioned at the lede

Yes I had noticed, it is just that the specific sentence mentions the mechanism of action of Telmisartan, a reader that is unfamiliar with the specific pathway won't think that there is a group of drugs- the sartans- and Telmisartan is one of them. Cinadon36 19:13, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

I do not like this sentence. Telmisartan is mostly an anti-HTN drug, its use/role at heart failure or CKD is not as notable as its role at HTN. Also, and more importantly, it is not used as a treatment of HF or CKD, it is used in the management of those to diseases. I would have change the sentence to "Telmisartan, sold under the trade name Micardis among others, is a medication used to treat high blood pressure. It is also used in the management of heart failure and diabetic kidney disease" but since it is the first sentence, I need your opinion...Cinadon36 20:16, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

PPARg-agonist activity of Telmisartan

Telmisartan has a PPARg-agonist- activity It says so at Opie, 8th edition, 2013, p171. I am not sure if we should state it at the article as it is mentioned in a secondary sentence... I feel the PPARg-agonist activity is really low. Same page says that telmisartan "reduced new-onset electrocardiographic LVH by 37%".Cinadon36 09:37, 26 November 2019 (UTC)

Short description

WP:SHORTDESC, and WP:SDJARGON in particular, requires an article's short description to "avoid jargon, and use simple, readily comprehensible terms that do not require pre-existing detailed knowledge of the subject". The current short description of Angiotensin II receptor antagonist does not do that. I changed it to Medication in the hope that someone more expert than me in the subject matter would expand that whilst keeping to the requirements of being simple and jargon-free; but @A455bcd9 has restored the previous jargon-laden version, with no edit summary to indicate why. Any better suggestions? {{small|I realise my change also included no edit summary, but the mobile app on which I made the change offers no opportunity to add one for short-description changes. Several other ARBs I checked have the same SD: Candesartan, Eprosartan, Olmesartan, etc.
