Merge tag with Wheatus album article edit

  • Oppose - this is a number-one single in Australia and a significant U.S. Modern Rock hit. It absolutely deserves its own article and at the very least should be expanded. - eo 18:19, 13 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

like fuck it does

Is there more than one version of this song? I seem to recall an edit with the line about the kid who takes a gun to school bleeped over. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.25.8.1 (talk) 02:54, 5 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Cover edit

It's been covered by Girls Aloud for a BBC Radio 1 CD (don't know if it was Live Lounge or something? Possibly the 40th anniversary CD?) --86.136.109.42 (talk) 13:40, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

wrong wiki linkage edit

This article links to the main actors Scott Foster (of the movie teenage dirtbag) which obviously has no relevance to this article. Can someone stop that. Or at least create a separate article, and then maybe somebody will write an article for the movie. (after its added). I have no account so I cant create a new article —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.32.31.254 (talk) 06:29, 20 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

censorship edit

The current official version of the song edits out the word "gun" from the phrase "brings a gun to school" post Columbine. I mention this because younger people dont seem to understand why "gun" gets edited out, but calling the jock boyfriend a "dick" (penis) remains in the song. [see: columbine massacre]

Some edits of the song replace the line entirely, with "He brings his friends to fights". 124.171.196.198 (talk) 05:30, 2 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

i'm an old fogey; i think gun would have been bleeped out even before columbine.

plus i don't exactly understand why it's in there in the first place. doesn't really make sense in the song. 209.172.25.112 (talk) 21:11, 20 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Release dates edit

I find this as an issue on a lot of singles on Wiki, that only one release date is given on the article, despite having a different releases world wide. Is it possible to get this page and others, updated to include release dates of countries other than the US? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.171.196.198 (talk) 05:32, 2 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Granny's guitar? edit

Or maybe, an aunt's. Read, or heard something about the acoustic guitar being something that was found in an attic, basement etc. Likely, UK. 211.31.37.109 (talk) 14:07, 1 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

"Dirtbag"? edit

in US slang, dirtbag means jerk, a-hole, sleazeball, stuff like that. i don't understand its use here to mean loser/drifter/stoner.

song would be cute in a self-effacing way if it weren't using the WRONG TERM like that.

and now a movie! has the meaning of "dirtbag" really shifted that radically?

perhaps that's why it was more popular in the UK and Australia? they weren't saddled down by the actual MEANING of dirtbag (US slang only?) and could more readily accept how it was intended from context alone? 209.172.25.112 (talk) 21:21, 20 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
