Ted Harris, autistic person
Ted Harris is an artist who is autistic. He was born in 1972 in Rose Valley PA. His father was a lawyer, his mother was a housewife. But it seems his sisters' costumes had an interesting effect on his imagination and outlook on life. At the age of six he had been known to have no skills other than making trouble and was often the target of bullies. Most of the kids in school would tell "Ted Harris jokes". But that never stopped Ted from making his dreams come true.
At the age of 17 he auditioned for "Al Alberts' Showcase" a local TV variety show in Philadelphia PA. he only appeared on it once. Al Alberts encouraged Ted to go to Hollywood to persue his dreams. Ted had appeared in Christmas plays and community theatre. he had also breifly had done a Halloween Haunted house and worked for Chuck E Cheese.
Ted had also created a horror show called "Terror Theatre" which was a horror movie show that showed horror movies from the 1980s and 1990s and old horror movies. Some movies led from bad to even worse and often not Ted would end up showing losers like THE THING to IT CONQUERED THE WORLD to THE THING WITH TWO HEADS. Philadelphia gave in to Harris madness and made him mayor for a day. Later in 1994 he was a changed man. He had toured the United States with his puppet show "The Jp and Ted Show" it also featured his friend John Paul Gomez. The show broke box office records whereever it was seen. In the show Ted would recreate Muppet skits and fairy tale stories and Bible stories. AS a finale to the show Ted would do a "company song" where the audience would sing along. Ted also created a show called "Uncle Scary's Horror Theatre" which was seen from 1996 to 1999.
Also Ted has created two more shows, "Angels Among Us" which features Bible Stories and stories of families in crisis. He also created a show called "The Wizard and Pamela show" Which features a Wizard who likes weird stuff but his sidekick Pamela doesn't.
Currently he has a job, and is a accompished artist who paints and draws. He works with Coalition Ingenu, a art program in Philadelphia PA that works with homeless and mentally ill people. He also worked with people like Selene Platt, Robert Bullock, James Webster, Doug Thomas, Jerry Perna, Barabra Greggson, Pat Jordan. He also met celebrities like Lou Ferrigno, Phil Fondacaro, Seth Greene, David Nelson, Al Alberts, Ricou Browning, The Bone Jangler, Sid Haig, Arin Shemmerman.
