Hi all,
I cleaned up the CART and IndyCar race results so that they looked a bit more visually appealing, but I'm discovering that for many seasons past users have just lumped both the Penske and the March or Lola chassis together under the same row. Whenever I can I try to separate the chassis and give them their own row, even if it doubles the size of the chart.
My problem is that there are several seasons in the 1980s where I just don't know which chassis was used at which event. In 1987, for example, the season page details who used which chassis at each event, so I could rely on that to rearrange the race results. But in 1986, I have no idea, and that's why they're still lumped together in one row. A similar problem is with the engines, but that comes up less often (I separated the Ilmor and the Mercedes engines in the 1994 race results and gave each their own row, for example).
Anybody have any idea what specific chassis Penske ran back in the '80s at each event? Or even why Penske didn't commit to his own chassis during this time? I'm genuinely curious.
Try this link. [1] Be careful, though, grey color means the car didn't race, but the site doesn't tell you the difference between DNS, DNQ and DNA. Pc13 (talk) 17:35, 18 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
