Movie?

Should someone put in the fact that a movie of the series is currently being worked on? You can find this info out on Lian Hearn's website, under one of her interviews.

The Hidden - not actually Christian

The article implies that the Hidden religion represents Christianity, but it is not so. Outlined in the fourth book, foreigners appear (apparently from Spain or Portugal or similar) who appear to worship Christianity, which is described as remarkably similar to the Hidden faith, but not the same and with a few significant differences.

Granted, I've only read the first three books, but wouldn't that make the Hidden the Otori-verse equivalent of these people: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kakure_Kirishitan ? "Tomasu" is said to be the name of a great leader of the Hidden in times past - and because no foreigners came to the Three Countries before the fourth book, the Hidden are probably meant to be followers of St. Thomas of Aquinas, a disciple who was meant to have visited Japan in 54 AD. So, Christianity had been in the country for thousands of years, long before the Christians from Portugal visited. They had plenty of time to make differences. Bronzey 05:12, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Thomas Aquinas was a medieval religious figure and not a missionary, the Thomas you're thinking of is more likely St. Thomas the Apostle (the doubting chap in the accounts of the Resurrection), described by certain legends as having been a missionary to India and points further east Derringdo 20:10, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Plot

The plot section is only relevant to the first book. It needs lengthanning... If i still had the books I would do it. However i dont so the task falls upon some one else... GO!

Synopsis

I have altered the reference to "putting dogs and men asleep", to "putting dogs and humans asleep". A small semantic point, but one which (in the unedited version) would seem to imply that putting women to sleep is not one of Takeo's talents. Takeo used his sleep talent on Kaede in one of the final chapters of Across the Nightingale Floor.

I've just changed the last sentence of this synopsis that they said "Kotaro ends up dead after he cuts off Takeo's lower left hand."

to "Kotaro ends up dead after he cuts off Takeo's lower right hand." :It was said that in the fourth book.

• What? Not sure what this is supposed to mean.
• I understand WP:ARTN, but not sure how that applies here. You'd still need reliable sources to show that the works are notable eventually - that's the whole point of Wikipedia, after all. It needs to be possible to verify this kind of thing. Since this article and the individual book articles are mostly plot summary, I just think it makes sense to combine them all for a more cohesive whole. As someone who is not familiar with this series, I didn't really understand any of the content on the sequel books, since they assume familiarity with the earlier books.
