Capitalisation of title edit

I see that the original article has been moved to a new name where 'sandstone' is not capitalised. 'Table Mountain Sandstone' is the name of a geological formation - a reference to a very specific sandstone - and should therefore be written with upper case T,M and S. If it were a more general article on say 'The sandstones of Table Mountain' then a lower case 's' would be appropriate. It will not be easy to reverse the error that has been perpetrated. Consider a redirect to Cape Fold Belt edit

This article is correctly classed as a stub. It would be difficult to expand it, as there is already a full article entitled Cape Fold Belt, which describes this formation in detail and fits it into context: the Cape Supergroup. I suggest that it gets redirected to Cape Fold Belt which contains a heading entitled Cape Supergroup which is formed by, among others, "Table Mountain Sandstone" (now called "Peninsula Formation Sandstone" - which is another good reason for a redirect). Turned stub into a full article edit

Following on my comment of 3 November above, I have reconsidered the request for a re-direct to the Cape Fold Belt article. The term Table Mountain Sandstone is still in very common use, and it seems a pity to present the reader with a very difficult to follow stub. I have consequently written a full encyclopedic article on the subject, which I hope readers will find interesting and informative. Oggmus (talk) 14:25, 23 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Rename? edit

If the correct name is Peninsula Formation Sandstone, should we move with redirect? · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 06:00, 24 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
