Transgender

edit

Actually I'm not sure T Cooper is a woman and I'm further confused by the wikipedia article's lack of pronouns. The reviews of Lipshitz Six used female pronouns, but I'm pretty sure I read an author bio in Out magazine that used male pronouns. So I'm thinking maybe T Cooper transitioned from female to male without making a big deal out of it and a lot of people didn't take note of it. Can anyone confirm this? After googling T Cooper to learn T's gender, I'm as stumped as the last writer. At the end of Lifschitz 6, when T talks about T's-self, (s)he identifies as male. But when I attended his/her reading in Manhattan this July (2008), I was almost convinced he/she was female from the register of his/her voice. My wife is certain that T is female. Does anyone know for sure? Please advise below. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.232.224.248 (talk) 05:30, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

T Cooper accepts both male and female pronouns.

This is incorrect. T Cooper does not accept female pronouns. See T Cooper's recent article in The Believer, available at http://www.believermag.com/issues/201102/?read=article_cooper. T Cooper would also think it's lame that his gender is the focus of Wikipedia's discussion page for this entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.48.162.103 (talk) 01:16, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Fortunately for us, as editors, T Cooper's opinions on what is "lame" have no bearing on what's notable for the article about him. His transness is noteworthy.24.6.1.88 (talk) 02:41, 24 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

That T Cooper is a trans man is conspicuously absent from this article. Like it or not (I've read the Believer article), there aren't many famous writers who are (or were) transgender, and so it is noteworthy. Air (talk) 22:02, 20 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
