Fair use rationale for Image:Brassovia.jpg edit

Image:Brassovia.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 17:51, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Original research edit

This etymological approach is an original personal research. It doesn't follow any etymology rule. This article tries to prove something from the Hungarian theory that Romanians came from South of Danube Oneinthemillions (talk) 16:12, 3 April 2010 (UTC) This fragment, that I took from your article, should be clarified and cleaned up. On the other side the medieval name of the Romanian quarter of the city is called by the Germans "the Bulgarian quarter", and in Romanian it is called Schei, which is the plural form of Schiau a word which has the same etymology like the Italian Schiavo, or the Sicilian Schiau, which means Slav. Tampa is a mountain with two cliffs overlooking the city, the Big Cliff over the main city, and the Little Cliff over Schei. In Sicilian the word for cliff is timpa (crag, cliff; but also Greek tymba, Latin tumba and Catalan timba). Also, related to cliffs, the Vale of Tempe (modern Greek: Témpi), celebrated by Greek poets as a favorite haunt of Apollo and the Muses, is the ancient name of a gorge in northern Thessaly, Greece, located between Olympus to the north and Ossa to the south. The valley is 10 kilometers long and as narrow as 25 meters in places, with cliffs nearly 500 meters high, and through it flows the Pineios River on its way to the Aegean Sea. On the river up to the mountain are located also the well known Meteora monasteries, on cliffs.Reply

Thessaly was called in the XIII-th century, Great Valachia, and Larissa, the main city, used to be a Vlach/Aromanian city, and mount Olympus was populated by Vlach shepherds. Not far to the North is Thessaloniki where the Vardar river flows into the Aegian sea. The city is called Sãrunã in Aromanian. and was rebuild by the Romans after defeating the Macedonians in 168 B.C., and became the capital of the new founded province of Macedonia. It was also an important trading hub on the Via Egnatia, a road colonized with Romans, the ancestors of the Aromanians. Sãrunã has been always a traditional Aromanian city even after it was colonized with Slavs and Greeks.

Both Thessalonian toponyms Tempi and Vardar resurfaced in Brasov, as Tâmpa and Warthe, naming the two hills overlooking the city and the Romanian quarter, called Schei.

The most accepted theory on the origin of the name Vardar, called in Greek Axios derives it from Bardários, from the Thracian language, from PIE *(s)wordo-wori-, "black water". This can be considered a translation or similar meaning of Axios, itself Thracian for "not-shining" from PIE *n.-sk(e)i (cf. Avestan axšaēna "dark-colored"), and found in another name at the mouth of the Danube, Axíopa "dark water", renamed in Slavic Crna voda "black water". According to this etymology Axios was originally Skei, exactly the same as Schei (pronounced skei).

Which brings us to another important toponomy, Pontus Euxinos. translated as the Black Sea. Euxinos stands for black and is identified in the word Ashkenazim, which denominates the Eastern European Jews. Some authors identify the root word as being Scythian, similar as Squiperia meaning Albania. Which brings us back to Schei (pronounced skei), which may mean Slav or Bulgarian.

Therefore, Tâmpa, Warthe, and Schei relate the Romanians in Brasov to the Romans in the Balkans, as one theory says that the Romanians belong to the same kinship as the Balkan Romans, those who provided to the Roman Empire some of the most important emperors, such as Aurelian, Diocletian, Galerius, Constantine, Julian, Anastasius, Justinian, Phocas to list just a few. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oneinthemillions (talkcontribs) 16:11, 3 April 2010 (UTC) A long theory to prove what?
