Temporary nicknames problem in infobox edit

@DePiep:: I tried to split the nicknames like this:

| nickname =
| nickname_subunit_1 =

The 'unit' nicknames list works fine but not the sub-units list. None of the nicknames appear, instead the unit plurals are repeated. "It is not logical, Captain."

Any ideas? 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 14:02, 30 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

See my edit just now for |nickname_subunit_1=abc. Seems to work. BTW1: the "plurals" repeated you saw could be the (singular) names. These are repeated LH-side for subunits plurals, and then again for nicknames. (subunits are a horror already now, and then adding 5-lang lissts ... is daring; why not a section overview for stareters?). Ping me again if it still doesn't work (save that edit anyway so I can take a look). -DePiep (talk) 14:36, 30 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
No, I still see the same abomination using Chrome at least, though how that could produce the 'false inheritance' I don't know. Let's sandbox it here: --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 14:53, 30 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I don't see irregularities. Not in Chrome either. NB "centimE" says its the sungular name in LH side.
Now, the subunits are a horror, up for improvement but not this week for me. Then, trying to stack five subvariants × [value, names, plural, nick] into an infobox is not a good way to bring information in any way or thought. So I prefer spending no more time on this. (IOW, better stop stacking constructs in an infobox this way; try otherthing). DePiep (talk) 15:04, 30 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
No problem to park it for now. It is another edge case that is ugly but not broken. So as a reminder for when we come back to it, what I see is something like this (without the lines):
Nickname
Swiss German
Rappen (German) Einräppler[note 1] for a 1
centime (French) centime coin; Füüferli[note 1]
centesimo (Italian) for a 5 centimes coin
rap (Romansh) Füfzgerli[note 1] for a 50
centimes coin.

Curious but one for another time. --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 16:57, 30 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Resolved edit

The problem appears to have been fixed. --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 14:25, 6 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia Italiana (IT:Banconote svizzere#Nona serie) has the new designs, so the table at Swiss franc § Banknotes should be techicnally easy to update, if anyone can supply the matching text?
Is anyone is able to make a fanfold image? (The editor who created the original has not contributed to Commons since 2013.) --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk)
