The following has no sources:
- Swan Lake has seen regular animals such as cattle, pigs, ducks, herons, muskrats, mink, and of course swans, but it has also seen a lion from the French Menagerie.
- Swan Lake used to house two wineries, a local dairy, a saloon, and a hotel.
- Swan Lake Hotel burned down twice: once in 1894, and once in 1897. It was not rebuilt after the second fire.
- A large horse sank down to its neck in the marsh around 1921 and was rescued by two teenage boys.
- In 1976, a wood chip truck sank to its bed in a marshy area while surfacing the park's trails.
