Origin edit

Most of the plot is common with Frank Schätzing's book "Der Schwarm" (ISBN 3462033743) --Dox 19:04, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

By that definition, E.T. would be the origin of Independance Day - both deal with aliens :)
Seriously, yes, in both stories fictional deep sea creatures play a vital role. However, the protagonists, setup, role of said creatures and conclusion are really completely different. I can't see a connection here. --80.135.87.35 20:39, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Cast edit

Only Bell, Jenkins and Ferguson are listed in the show's opening credits. Everyone else is given co-star credit. Should there be seperate categories for the cast, consisting of these three, and other characters who are co-stars?

It appears that initially, more people were listed in the opening credits. IMDb seems to think so, anyway. There is no set way of doing this on the Wikipedia, and different shows have their cast presented in different ways. I suggesting organizing the cast as you see fit, and then others can make changes where they deem appropriate. Please don't delete cast members though - move them if you think they are mis-categorized. -- Scjessey 12:44, 11 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
I just added a few more tonight. The image indicates the main cast and the order of the cast reflects that as well. I don't see much need to do anything drastic. Would be nice to add in the other characters. Cburnett 04:24, 7 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dystopian edit

How is it dystopian? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.30.69.190 (talkcontribs)

I would argue that dystopian is far too strong a word to describe the society portrayed in the series. I don't believe the current climate in the USA would be described as such, and it seems to me that the TV series barely differs from that. -- Scjessey 13:01, 1 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Conclusion edit

As this show is cancled, there are several unanswered questions about the main plot lines. Please update this section if you know (for a fact) the conclusion to the main plot lines. Please list sources.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Liquidcable (talkcontribs)

SaveSurface.com ? edit

On 29 August 2006, the link to http://www.savesurface.com was edited out (with edit summary of "removed linkspam"). Do you consider SaveSurface.com to be linkspam? (I consider it to be NON-spam) --EarthFurst 07:13, 23 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

No, savesurface is not spam. I am a part of the community and I know the owners. We are dedicated to getting Surface back, though it is highly unlikely now. We do have contacts to the creators. -- Jonathan Watson

Fair use rationale for Image:SurfaceTVSeries.jpg edit

Image:SurfaceTVSeries.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Third paragraph is horrifying edit

Good intentions are clearly being outstripped by bad use of the english language. Whoever is trying to "save Surface" is doing more harm than good with that ill conceived diatribe. I don't even know where to begin when it comes to editing it, and since even amongst the muddle it presents a strongly biased non-factual viewpoint, perhaps it should be removed altogether. 68.229.184.37 14:56, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've removed it from the article, per your reasoning. Matthew 15:06, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

permission for a second season edit

Is there any source for: "In January 2009 NBC give permission for a second season." I couldn't find anything which would confirm this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.189.82.83 (talk) 06:21, 23 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

hi edit

i think nbc should allow surface to come back it was a great series but it left millions hanging and that is not a good thing. so it would make a million of people happy to see it come back on air. 71.56.111.62 (talk) 21:04, 1 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
