"This was proven false when Baron Vladimir Harkonnen tortured the wife of Dr. Wellington Yueh until he agreed to betray House Atreides"

Although never explained fully, i was under the assumption that the Baron Harkonnen mearly captured Dr Yuehs wife, and influced Yueh to betray house Atredies under the false premise that his wife was still alive (when she was infact dead). The quoted sentence makes it sound as if the torture of his wife was ongoing and it was this ongoing torture that was used to make him betry...

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I see your point. However it is noted that Yueh had faced "the sight of his wife writhing in Harkonnen pain amplifiers." I have no idea. I've always had 3 theories: 1) No one had ever tried that method before. (Kind of lame, I know...) 2) Yueh loved Wanna thiiiiis much. (Or, the 'love conquers all' theory. Equally lame.) 3) Wanna taught Yueh some l337 Bene Gesserit techniques which let him overcome the conditioning if he really wanted to. (My favorite theory, as it is nice & neat, and we know BG spouses do teach their hubbies some tricks; but alas, I remember no particular textual support for this theory.) --Gwern (contribs) 16:20 27 October 2008 (GMT)

Origin of the term

Given Frank Herbert's preference to altered Arabic expressions, Suk reminds to the Arabic term sūq for 'market'. One is left to speculate then what inspired him to apply it in the Dune universe; the ready doctors at a market place; the doctors which are for hiring?

Notability?

Clearly, the Suk School is notable within the Dune universe, which itself is one of the most acclaimed sci-fi series in existence. I also think this article is adequately sourced, and not just an expansion on an unimportant term (which would render it not notable). In any case, I believe this user is misinterpreting the notability guidelines in this case, and I'm not sure what we do to guarantee that the article stays. TAnthony 00:08, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
