MP? edit
What is your argument? MP is the style used by all NSW members of the Legislative Assembly. Wikipedia INITIAL policy states "Post-nominal letters, other than those denoting academic degrees, should be included when they are issued by a country or widely recognizable organization with which the subject has been closely associated. Honors issued by other entities may be mentioned in the article, but generally should be omitted from the lead."
Since he is now a member 'closely associated' of the nsw parliament, it should be included to help identify him as such, just as every other MP, state or federal, is. I'm arguing on a consistency base and to have one page without using MP seems very odd.

- Very few other pages use MP, and none of them should. The postnominal is attached to the office rather than the person, much as Clover Moore, for example, is the Right Honourable Lord Mayor of Sydney, but not The Right Honourable Clover Moore. These initials are not "issued" by a country at all, which is what WP:INITIAL is talking about; they are an identifier used by MPs in their own material. I'm open to including it in the infobox, although I'd prefer not to - it just means a lot of extra maintenance whenever someone ceases to be an MP and we have to go around removing everything. It should not be included in the lead, just as "The Honourable", etc., should not. Frickeg (talk) 22:31, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
On closer inspection i have seen that since it isnt an 'honour' as such. I agree on your lead argument but I think they should remain in the infobox as it helps identify them as MPs, as well as the fact that they use it in their names. Siegfried Nugent (talk) 03:16, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
