kWe edit

what is a 'kWe'????

Wondering the same thing, suspect its simply kW though.

It's kW electrical energy, see Talk:Alkali-metal_thermal_to_electric_converter

kWe is kilowatts electric, as opposed to kWt, which is kilowatts thermal. 70.245.12.65 (talk) 16:46, 14 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposal edit

Would a combination of betavoltaics and this technology produce even more power? 70.245.12.65 (talk) 16:46, 14 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Design change edit

There is going to be a significant change on these units in use soon as the final design review on there use for the next Discovery Mission was pretty negative. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.49.156.34 (talk) 17:06, 7 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Merge pages? edit

I would oppose merging this and ASRG. This is about the general concept, the other is about a particular instantiation. Yes, there is some content here that belongs there; I will fix that when I get a chance. Noel (talk) 18:25, 20 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Data Sheet in reflist link does not work, here is a different possible source edit

I do not have the knowledge to edit this, yet if you want to update the sources, the NASA site changed to here: http://solarsystem.nasa.gov/rps/factsheets.cfm — Preceding unsigned comment added by Damionpaulhart (talkcontribs) 22:19, 3 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Unclear sentence edit

The article reads:

The hot end of the Stirling converter reaches high temperature and heated helium drives the piston, heat being rejected at the cold end of the engine.

I understand the two parts separately (before and after the comma), but can't put them together into a logical whole. Could you, please, do something about it? 85.193.228.103 (talk) 23:24, 2 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hmm, I just had a moment of clarity. Let me guess - there was a lack of the word "with" after the comma, right? Apparently some editor wanted to avoid repeating the word "end". So I change the sentence accordingly. 85.193.228.103 (talk) 16:34, 5 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
