How to pronounce? edit

Is the second word pronounced "Julie" as it looks, or "Julia"? I've heard both.

I have always heard it pronounced Julie. --Boothy443 | trácht ar 06:45, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

It is pronounced Julie. Julia is incorrect but is a common mistake. The college is considering changing its name.

I've heard they've been considering a name change to either "Villa Julie University," or "Stevenson University" after obtaining university status. It is rumored that the school administration wishes to distance itself from the religiously-associated Villa Julie name, however some alumni are not happy that their diplomas would be from a place with a different name, and many others among faculty and the student body do not feel the same need to shed the Villa Julie name. --Korteenea 08:00, 2 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

What data? edit

"This reason was cited by the Board of Trustees although data indicates that almost no current students or prospective students were even aware of Villa Julie's former status as a woman's college. "

What data? There is no source, and no data is cited. Sounds speculative.

Who needs data to back up a decision?  :( —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.179.36.89 (talk) 13:21, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup tag edit

I added a cleanup tag to this article, since it needs to better follow WP:UNIGUIDE. I can do some of this myself, but I thought to give others a chance to contribute :-). Examples of issues: the story-like content in the history "the university today enrolls...." isn't encyclopedic but sounds like a brochure; the list of majors and programmes is similarly advert-like and not encyclopedic. Cheers! --Aepoutre (talk) 18:48, 21 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I just completed a first cut at following WP:UNIGUIDE. The article still needs expansion on some sections, including a better lead, photographs, and more about the two campuses. Article also needs to be monitored for ongoing expansion into the old Rosewood Center (still bogged down in late 2013, after 3 years of talking).— Molly-in-md (talk) 17:18, 2 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Marching Band edit

Nearly this whole section reads as a silly advertisement. The cite leads back to the marching band's own self aggrandizing homepage-- What constitutes a "killer" electronics section? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.99.185.50 (talk) 07:23, 14 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
