Unfortunately i have no idea why Worcestershire decided not to use me for a single first class game in 1991 my last season. My assumption would be that i fell out of favour with the selectors for some reason which was never explained to me. But it was that which prompted my decision to look elsewhere, even though i knew at the time that playing for another county would never replace my home town. Having attracted interest from Surrey, Leicestershire and Durham it was the lure of playing for a new debutant First Class County which pulled me to the North. Unfortunately i was never able to fully recover from a very badly broken finger which required surgery and pinning, on my bowling hand suffered at the end of the 1991 season. In fact throughout the first few months of the 1992 season i had nowhere near the control i had experienced during my previous years. By the time i had regained any semblance of the player i had been i was already retired and settled into a new career |

If you are Steven McEwan, it would be useful to add some of the above information to the article; however we can't use information on Wikipedia that does not have a verifiable source that others can refer to. Is there a book, magazine article etc that contains the information you mention above? If so, I'd be very happy to add it.
