Rotherham United edit

If anyone can find out when he played for the Millers, I'd appreciate it. - Dudesleeper 13:46, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

An anonymous editor says he did go on loan to Rotherham, but an exact year isn't yet known. - Dudesleeper · Talk 13:50, 26 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I have a players who's who from the early 90s at home listing all clubs and appearances for every league player active at the time so I'll check that over the weekend and update this page accordingly on Monday when I'll next have computer access. Keresaspa (talk) 16:27, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Excellent. - Dudesleeper / Talk 17:01, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
I've looked over the book and double checked on the matching player to team function on [1] and nothing has turned up about this guy playing for Rotherham. Assuming good faith I can only think that Rotherham were added either because he was on trial there but never actually signed or because somebody similar had a loan spell at the club. His full listed stats in the book (Jack Rollin, Soccer Who's Who, 1994 edition) are given as 1987-88 - Walsall F.C. 0 appearances; 1988-89 - Walsall 0 appearances; 1989-90 - Blackpool F.C. 22 appearances; 1990-91 - Blackpool 44 appearances; 1991-92 - Blackpool 28 appearances; 1992-93 - Blackpool 3 appearances; 1993-94 - Blackpool 4 appearances, Chester City F.C. on loan, 1 appearance. Given this all this I am going to remove the Rotherham references from the article and update his Blackpool appearances to 101.Keresaspa (talk) 13:48, 21 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ah, bit of a problem. I checked something called the Panini Football Yearbook from 1989 and it suggested that during his final season at Walsall McIlhargey did have a loan spell at Rotherham although he played no gmaes. However as I have said this is not mentioned in the Soccer Who's Who I checked or the previous year's edition which I have since looked at. As it is we have two sources against Rotherham but one in favour, although the two sources in favour are from the same author. I'll try to chase up three or four more and if enough of them mention Rotherham then it can be restored but if not we can assume Panini made a mistake. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
