File:Sterlingbeaumon2011.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion edit

An image used in this article, File:Sterlingbeaumon2011.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?
Speedy deletions at commons tend to take longer than they do on Wikipedia, so there is no rush to respond. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Attn. Sterling edit

While it is clear that you are editing your own article - which you certainly have every right to do, please keep in mind that you do not "OWN" the article, you are merely it's subject. Please see WP:OWN. The article is on Wikipedia, an encyclopedia which maintains very specific rules and minimum standards for inclusion. Wikipedia is not an online gossip column, a teen fan magazine, or a high school newspaper, so the writing style of inclusions should NOT sound like they are written for those pages. The fact that you even have a page on Wikipedia is a privilege. Don't abuse it. I've seen those who do have their pages removed. You would be well-advised to review the guidelines in this instance: WP:AUTO#IFEXIST and WP:SELFPROMOTE.

I have also spent considerable time trying to properly format and improve your article. So I'm not the enemy. I've rewritten it so that it not only conforms to the standards here, but reads well, as a positive reflection on YOU - it's subject. But if you're going to be stubborn or obnoxious, or refuse to listen to the good advice you're given for improving the article and instead would rather play childish games like reverting improved edits back to your own amateurishly written edits, then I'll simply decline to assist in future. I'll also report the article to admins - who WILL format it properly and if necessary, even block your access to it, if you persist in making unacceptable edits. Worse case scenario, someone might even challenge it's notability (see WP:NOTE and WP:SPIP) and subject the entire article to a speedy deletion vote. Think about it. I hope you make the best decision for the article about you online - not what might feed your ego offline. But the choice is yours. Cheers. 208.127.239.5 (talk) 01:37, 11 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
