Expedition change

Some one changed the end of this sentence "They missed it, ran into hostile Indians and had to eventually eat their own horses to survive before they finally met the other part of the expedition at Belle Point in Oklahoma" to "Fort Smith in Arkansas". Improved - remove stub status??

I've made several improvements to the article, step-by-step, over the last few days. Long's an interesting figure, he must have been quite a "mover and shaker" in his time. The article was crying out for some pix (none), so I've added two. I created the "representation" of his full portrait, as I found no decent full colour version (a few colour close-ups are floating around on the web, but cropped so tightly that they make him seem thin and spindly - better the full portrait, as intended by the artist, so that's what I've recreated based on a poor but whole B&W version found). The article needs a map of Long's exploration routes, to help it further. It also needs cleaning up a little more (it has stuff about inventions/patents, but no source refs - any railway fan care to investigate?), but at least it's no longer a "stub". Hopefully someone else in charge of "stub rating" will reclassify the article accordingly (I'm not sure how best to do that, so I'll leave that for others). I agree. His role as an early civil engineer on the B&O railroad is passed over.I would propose to revamp the article to discuss his career as a civil engineer,add his patents and published works as other engineering biographies do, see G W Whistler, Henry Campbell two contemporaries... Places Named after Long

Since Long explored, many places were named after Long, such as Long's Peak in Colorado, as well as Longmont. I think info like this should be included in Steven H. Long's article.
