This needs moving

It should be at Stephano (Shakespeare) - ie with a space before the opening bracket. Because that page has two history entries it can't be moved simply, but this page should redirect there, not the other way around as now. Loganberry (Talk) 21:43, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Ok, did a quick review of the article: The article relies far too much on primary sources (i.e. the play itself). It needs good secondary sources. The image of Stephano in the infobox fails to render and appears to be a hand-drawn scetch. This should probably be a picture of an actor playing Stephano in a suitable staging of the play. Character Traits and Analysis reads like it was the article's author doing the analysis. This would fall under the Synthesis and Original Research policies. The section needs to be rewritten to reference a Reliable Source which does the analysis. The Plan is oddly named, and is a list. It should be converted to prose. The quotes in Quotes seem excessive. Trim the longest, or maybe even spread them around as text boxes in the other sections. The Performance history section needs to be expanded. At a minimum it should contain discussion of notable interpretations of the character. Origins seems to talk about Shakespeare's motivations for creating the character, but I would have expected tis section to discuss from what sources Shakespeare drew while when writing it. Is The Tempest perhaps based on earlier works that included the character? If not, did Shakespeare take just the character of Stephano from an earlier source and include him in the play? Are there analogues to the Stephano character or character type in other of Shakespeare's plays? In plays or novels by other people? The language is also generally poor in the article. The author seems to have been a bit uncertain about what style of prose to employ on Wikipedia (I don't blame you: Encyclopedic isn't all that helpful a description). A more confident, but still neutral, voice would do wonders there. Some sentences are also staccato and listy, and could use polish to be more narrative. This was really quick and just skimming the top, but should hopefully give some ideas for where to focus attention. Great work so far! --Xover (talk) 21:26, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
