Unreferenced Statement edit

The only statement in the 'Acting in Lazy Town' section is unreferenced. Thus I suggest removing the section. --58.6.93.68 00:54, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

The factual accuracy of this article is disputed. edit

And here's why. External links previously included in this article pointed to fan-published interviews on a website called "LazyTown Pointe." The veracity of these so-called interviews has recently been called into question, thanks to a number of errors and contradictions contained therein, and a blatant refusal by the webmaster to comment on the truthfulness of the articles.

Additionally, LazyTown Entertainment, Inc., with whom Mr. Stefansson is currently employed, has responded to questioning regarding the interviews by stating that the interviews are greatly in error, out of character, and almost certainly works of fiction.

I have removed the links, however, I suspect some aspects of the article may possibly be taken from those "interviews," and as such, I suggest that the article be checked for factual accuracy.

Gofundme edit

I doubt it would belong in the article - Wikipedia isn't a healthcare organisation - but the man has a Gofundme page for his medical treatment. He also had a Reddit AMA page about it. The mainstream media hasn't picked up on this yet. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 10:22, 15 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Casper 2 Removal edit

Unless anyone objects I'll be removing the Casper 2 entry on the filmography, IMDB doesnt have it and the only places that do are a copy of this page. Auto98uk (talk) 11:58, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Picture edit

Are there any acceptable pictures we could add to the article? People should be able to see how similar he and James Frain look. Ranze (talk) 01:16, 5 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Stefán Karl Stefánsson passed away today (June 28th, around 8-9 P.M.) due to terminal cancer and I ask for the information in this article to be updated accordingly. OhHaiXeno (talk) 03:13, 29 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Not done@OhHaiXeno: We require the citation of a reliable, published source before we declare someone dead here. See Verifiability and Biography of living persons. So far, I have only found sources that say he is gravely ill, none that say he has died. Until such a source can be found, we will not publish this information here. Unreferenced Statement edit

The statement referring to him being the first member of Lazytown to die is unsourced, potentially untrue, and may be considered insensitive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 35.20.181.77 (talk) 22:38, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Looks like User:Maltrópa has removed it from the article.--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 23:02, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Pardon, I didn't see it was under discussion. It didn't seem to be particularly significant (and was, as noted, unsourced) so I removed it. ~ Maltrópa loquace 02:45, 22 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Maltrópa: Nah, it wasn't really under discussion - they just made an edit request and I commented that it was removed. I think you made the right call.  --SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 03:01, 22 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Change "He died 21st August 2018 aged 43." to "Stefan passed away after a two-year battle with bile duct cancer on 21st August 2018 aged 43." 178.156.50.131 (talk) 23:28, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Change "Stefan Karl Center for Preforming Arts" to "…Performing Arts" --06:23, 22 August 2018 (UTC) (Anon) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 113.28.115.253 (talk)

Comment A more informative version may be beneficial, so I won't close this edit request, but on Wikipedia wording such as passed away is avoided per WP:MOS as it implicitly suggests a point of view. This doesn't seem immediately obvious with beloved people such as Stefán, but on biographies of controversial people this wording reads awkwardly, and especially when speaking of people that are generally agreed to be on the wrong side of history, so it's avoided altogether on Wikipedia in order to ensure that articles on the encyclopedia are written from a neutral point of view.   Not done: His cancer is covered elsewhere in the article (in that paragraph, even). I don't see a need for another mention of it in this sentence. "Died" is preferred to "passed away" - see MOS:EUPHEMISM. The typo has already been corrected - thank you for pointing it out. ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 13:45, 22 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please change "The Stefan Karl Academy & Center for the Preforming Arts" (From the last sentence of the "Death" section) to "Stefan Karl Academy & Center for the Performing Arts". Spelling mistake of "Performing", being spelt as "Preforming". 86.168.175.1 (talk) 06:41, 22 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

MOS:SURNAME edit

If I understand this correctly, after the initial use, Stefán Karl Stefansson should be referred to as "Stefán Karl", as we have done throughout most of the article. Inexplicably, the photo caption was "Stefansson". I have corrected this based on my understanding (which is, admittedly, a bit questionable. - SummerPhDv2.0 17:38, 22 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'm inclined to leave it as is so as to not be overly technical up front, but I'm not aware of a specific guideline on this and I'm not completely convinced either way. I'll leave this open for further opinions. ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 13:48, 24 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Stefan Passed Away in Iceland! NOT California! edit

According to a People Magazine interview with Stefan's wife, Steinunn Ólína Þorsteinsdóttir, she stated that Stefan had passed away in Iceland and not in California as this article says. Can we fix this?

Reliable source for personal life edit

Is [1] a reliable source for use in expanding the section Personal life?  Nixinova  T  C  03:40, 28 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Nixinova, IMDb is not considered to be a reliable source because it is user-generated, see its section on Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources/Perennial sources. It generally shouldn't be used to use it to support content within articles, so I don't think it would be a good idea to expand the section with content which relies solely on IMDb.--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 03:51, 28 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
