Talk:Static testing

Latest comment: 8 years ago by Walter Görlitz in topic Merge?

The sentence "Static testing is generally done as unit testing following an "Elephant in Cairo" style." is not correct. The reason is the definition in the section before: "...is a form of software testing where the software isn't actually used" which wants to say that it is a non-execution based method. - The unit test is a dynamic test. --84.56.142.31 17:58, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Expanded meaning edit

Static testing also applies to engineering, not only software. For example, aircraft undergo static testing before flight. I think the article needs to be reworked to include the expanded meanings.--Lester 04:28, 24 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Merge? edit

Should this article be distinct from the fuller one on static program analysis? I propose a redirect to there instead of keeping this page.

An unsigned question and no discussion does not constitute a merge discussion. Walter Görlitz (talk) 13:48, 18 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
