Eastmere edit

Judging by the number of skid marks and 'donuts' visible in the Google Earth imagery (at 2009_04_09), I would guess that Eastmere village 52°32′21″N 0°47′20″E / 52.53917°N 0.78889°E / 52.53917; 0.78889 was the place where BBC Top Gear filmed the sequence where Clarkson dodges mock bullets in a laser-sensitive, talking jacket ("woneded, woneded, woneded"), while driving a Merc and a Porsche. Title edit

I am a bit uneasy about the title 'Stanford Battle Area'. In the vast majority of references, including mine, it is described as 'Stanford Training Area'. Indeed, the article's info box also says 'Training'. I suspect the 'Battle' bit of the title is a wartime leftover. I would change the title myself but I didn't want to without gaining some sort of consensus and I'm not too sure how to do it!

I have deleted the word 'infantry' at the beginning for two reasons; I trained there as a non-infantryman in the 1980s and one of the external links (dated June 2006), also mentions non-infantry training.

Does the bit about the Harrier strip need to be retained in the article? After all, the aircraft went out of service earlier this year.

Agree with re-titleing. The current first line: "Stanford Battle Area, better known as the Stanford Training Area (STANTA),", should be re-written as "Stanford Training Area (STANTA) known locally as the Battle Area,". I do not believe that it has ever been known as or called "Stanford Battle Area". Kiltpin (talk) 11:10, 18 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
