Spelling edit
Shouldn't we unify the spelling of this and Stanage Edge Then we can create redirects for the alternate spellings.--ObscureFruits (talk) 22:59, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
Parishes edit
"It (Stanedge Pole) was used for centuries as a boundary marker between the parishes of Sheffield, Hathersage and Ecclesfield." I think this might be wrong but can't find a copy of Hunter's source, 'Hallamshire. The History and Topography of the Parish of Sheffield in the County of York.' I suspect that "Ecclesfield" should in fact be "Ecclesall."

Name again edit
I've changed the text to read "also known as Stanage Pole". The plaque and base plate on the new (2016) pole call it "Stanage Pole". As noted by others, the OS call it Stanedge but on this occasion I think they are wrong. Mick Knapton (talk) 11:01, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
