I grew up splitting my time between NYC and The Adirondacks in far upstate NY. We had the same stack cake traditions and if anyone wishes to interview me for an article so that my knowledge of the practices is not lost to time my comment on my talk page. I am eager to remind people that The Adirondack region is very similar to Appalachia in tradition but with an interesting layer of French Voyageur culture overlain. I collect old cookbooks and continue to make the foods I was taught to exploit out due to poverty in the region. Stack Cake is one of those celebratory foods that can be made on the cheap.
