Mechell edit
Perhaps try to avoid 19th century sources (or at least check if there are newer sources). Mechell was probably mistakenly identified with the Malo bishop, but turns out to be someone else. See e.g. [1]. Fram (talk) 12:37, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
- Really? There are lots of sources which have said he was[1][2][3] - though granted they are all a lot older. I can't find any others that say he wasn't - other than the one you provided ツStacey (talk) 13:01, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
- P.S. I can't access the sources used on the Mechell article and the link to the archive is broken.
- This is an interesting read.. they were the same person? Welsh Biography
- (edit conflict)There are also older sources who say he wasn't the malo one, like [2]. For a recent study of the problem, see [ojs.tsv.fi/index.php/scf/article/download/45322/16638], which calls the identification of Mechell/Mechyll with Malo "unhistorical". It also discusses this very church (apparently the only church dedicated to Saint Mechell!). Fram (talk) 13:18, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
