Airlanka Images

We should upload pictures of this airline in the form of Airlanka to show readers about Airlanka before it was changed to Sri Lankan airlines.--Nadirali نادرالی

Very good idea, Nadirali. Any contributions welcomed. If you think you have an image that can be used, see the 'Uploading Images' page before uploading. Cheers, Coolmark18 08:03, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
A photo of Air Lanka 747 has been added, and can also add L-1011 photo, but as there is very little context for Air Lanka in this article, adding it will only be like photo cruft. Perhaps expand Air Lanka history a little more and then it can be added. --Russavia 14:54, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Sri Lankan Airlines logo.png

Image:Sri Lankan Airlines logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:54, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

SriLankan Air Taxi

Shouldn't there be a section on Sri Lankan air taxi in this page? I understand currently operations have ceased, however there should be a section outlining its operations when it was running, destinations and fleet etc. They may recommence services now with the easing of the security situation in the country too so we could expand on this section if they do. Orphaned references in SriLankan Airlines

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of SriLankan Airlines's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "airfleets.net":

  • From TAM Airlines: TAM Fleet | Airfleets aviation
  • From List of Boeing 747 operators: "Air Siam Fleet | Airfleets aviation". Airfleets.net. Retrieved 2012-07-25.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 16:33, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

Average age of Aircrafts

an average age of air crafts should be less than 10.8 with the addition of 2 brand new A330

Corruption

This will take a lot of reading and digestion, but IMHO there should be a section of the article titled "corruption". Wiki is here to document all relevant info, good and bad. Mjroots (talk) 21:58, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

It looks quite notable. Wikipedia would be remiss if it were not included, at least in summary. - Ahunt (talk) 22:46, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
@Ahunt and Mjroots: Why not? Go ahead.--Jetstreamer Talk 23:31, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
I've added a section to the article. I've now read the report in full, but will need to re-read it a couple more times before expanding the section. Other editors are encouraged to join in. Mjroots (talk) 06:50, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

This article needs editing

Quoting from the current article: The Hub in the Ocean, our Cargo Centre which is conveniently located in the premises of the Bandaranaike International Airport with an impressive storage space of over 25,000 square meters has an unparalleled advantage of being strategically positioned in the Indian Ocean between the commercial centers of the East and West.

Is this proper Wikipedia language? Lot's of POV issues.

It's a copyright violation from http://www.srilankancargo.com/hub-in-the-ocean/cargo-center-tour, so not surprising that the language is unacceptable. Thanks for pointing it out. - David Biddulph (talk) 16:33, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

Number of direct destinations flown by SriLankan Airlines is 42

Need to change the number of destinations mentioned in the page:

"The airline operates to 94 destinations from its main hub located at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo.[11][12]".
The page under the tab "Destination" shows as roughly the correct full time destinations, but the first opening sentence in the main page needs to be corrected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.207.140.125 (talk) 19:37, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
