mackenzie brothers?
Am I misremembering something or is this true: did Spuds (supposedly, it is after all a dog in a marketing campaign and they are fictional) start out as Bob and Doug MacKenzie's dog? --Andymussell 03:17, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
- I can't disprove that exactly, but in the McKenzie bros. movie (Strange Brew, which being released in 1983 predates Spuds), their dog is named Hosehead and he's black.

As a briefly famous popular icon, Spuds was referenced in lots of places by lots of people. And most of it irrelevant. Here is my proposed guideline for inclusion in the Cultural references section: the referrer must 1. have their own article and 2. mention the Spud link in their own article. — Alan De Smet | Talk 23:59, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
