What does this mean? Other suburbs of Melbourne which are also referred to similarly are the nearby Clayton, Victoria, and Glen Waverley, Victoria. Similar to what? Springvale? How is Glen Waverley similar to Springvale? Or - maybe there is a citation or reference needed? --Commking 04:39, 18 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I am removing this reference to Clayton and Glen Waverly, until further facts come to light. --Commking 23:03, 17 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've noticed several reverts of the addition of the entry "Jack's" from the education section. While this is the right thing to do, I can give some context as a local: "Jack" is probably the operator of the largest tuition business (there are a LOT in Springvale) in the area and is quite well known because most high school aged people either studied there at some stage or knows someone who did. He's also famous for owning quite a prominent mansion in central Springvale which he teaches out of. Of course, it still isn't notable enough to mention in the article because it's just a big inside joke. invincible 01:14, 17 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

CommuterUser16's edits edit

I've reverted all of them - whether a list of bus routes contributes anything to an encyclopedia article is debatable in the first place, and we've already got a list at List of Melbourne bus routes. We certainly don't need more lists duplicating the list in that article, which will become a nightmare in the event that bus routes are changed. In any case, Wikipedia is not a travel guide. The other edit I removed was Rowville being listed as a suburb bordering Springvale to the north-east which is not the case - Springvale's north-eastern border is in the cemetery, near Waverley Gardens which is part of Mulgrave. invincible (talk) 14:28, 20 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Might we find a photo of Springvale which isn't a McDonalds? (The restuarant is generic and could be "anywhere.") —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.56.94.11 (talk) 00:12, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Good idea - like a picture of Springvale Rd commercial strip, or further south, the section known as 'Temple Row' - that couldn't be anywhere else. Eyedubya (talk) 10:52, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I've long thought that - it's really a shocking choice of picture, sadly I don't have a camera or I'd go right out now and get something better. Winterborn (talk) 04:17, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

A good image would be the commercial strip entering springvale from the station, where you can see the underground subway

I think the MacDonalds captures the subtle differences that springvale has with the rest of melbourne. Note the placement of the cars. You wouldn't find that exact arrangement of cars in any other MacDonalds carpark, nor the carefully clipped hedge in the foreground. I mean, every suburb in Melbourne has all the shop signs in 4 or 5 languages, a giant book outside the school, a railway junction to a cemetery, a car, horse and dog race track and a toy library. --Jaded-view (talk) 04:04, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I can probably upload a different photo by next week. Black Sabre (talk) 02:37, 4 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
