Looks like this reservoir's unusual characteristics have made it the site of a number of scientific experiments. Might be worth mentioning, though I don't have time right now. For instance, from this source: "The filling of Spring Hollow Reservoir provided an unusual opportunity to investigate groundwater flow contours in a natural setting..." etc. Worth thinking about!
