A Notability tag was placed on the main article that said:

This article may not meet a proposed guideline for notability (see Wikipedia:Notability (music)). If you are familiar with the subject matter, please expand or rewrite the article to establish its notability. The best way to address this concern is to reference published, third-party sources about the subject. If notability cannot be established, the article is more likely to be considered for redirection, merging, or deletion, per Wikipedia:Guide to deletion.

There was no change to the article aside from the deletion of the tag. The tag was placed on the page in order to assist Editors in expanding this article. It's removal, with no changes being made, does not help the article meet guidelines for notability, thusly may be subject to deletion.

If the contents of the tag were not clear a detailed break down follows.

The relevant text of the articles bio section states the band "supported" some better known acts with a list of some of those acts.

Relevant text of the article also says that "Ally (drums) made way for Marky on the drums" which implies that Marky Ramone may have sat in for a song or two during one of those support slots.

The other relevant comments include the drummer and the guitar player being guests on a game show and the band performing at "Big Day Out".

The links included in the bands info box are not about the band and are all to Wikipedia articles which is not advised per Wikipedia guidelines. (Wikipedia:SELF)

Using the guidelines found at Wikipedia:Notability (music)#Criteria for musicians and ensembles this article does not currently meet any of the guidelines. To explain line by line:

  1. subject of multiple non-trivial published works has not been shown.
  2. Has had a charted hit on any national music chart has been eluded to but not cited or referenced.
  3. Has had a record certified gold or higher has not been shown.
  4. Has received non-trivial coverage in a reliable source of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour has not been shown. (Even the statements of being a local support act are not cited or referenced)
  5. Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels has not been shown as the list of releases does not indicate any label, nor does the band info box.
  6. Contains at least one notable musician has not been shown.
  7. Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city has not been shown.
  8. Has won or been nominated for a major music award has not been shown.
  9. Has won or placed in a major music competition has not been shown
  10. Has performed music for a work of media that is notable has not been shown
  11. Has been placed in rotation nationally by any major radio network has not been shown
  12. Has been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast across a national radio or TV network has not been shown. While two of the bands members appeared on a game show it does not seem, as though the band was the sole subject of those game shows, nor are the shows mentioned cited or referenced as being "broadcast across a national" television network.

Editors who are familiar with certain topics may make false assumptions that, because they are aware of it, others must be aware of the article subjects notability as well. As English Wikipedia is freely available to readers around the world one should never make that assumption and always attempt to provide verifiable references and sources that are independent of the subject. Seven years later... I've addressed many of these issues but some name dropping of the artist as support act/toured with have not yet been independently verified: more work is needed. Notwithstanding that, the issue of notability has been adequately addressed.shaidar cuebiyar (talk)
