Royal Air Force Cadets (Air Training Corps members) edit

Shouldn't this disambiguation mention that RAF cadets (members of the Air Training Corps) are referred to as 'Space Cadets'? I'm not well-endowed enough in the Wikipedia community to do it with the required references and code (as I'm sure I'll display here) - all I know is that I was a Space Cadet and still hear it used to refer to RAF cadets (especially by serving/retired RAF personnel). I don't know if it has been phased out and I'm just hearing the remnants of the old system, but even if that is the case shouldn't there be a note that this term used to refer to RAF cadets? 90.214.50.250 (talk) 10:23, 27 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

post script: I've tried to look this up on the internet, and am flabbergasted by the lack of support. I did however find this discussion: http://www.pprune.org/archive/index.php/t-535450.html, where someone called 'thing' says:

"AW, you wouldn't know being (I assume) American but space cadet is the nickname for our Air Training Corp, can't think of an American equivalent but it's a kind of young teenagers uniformed air minded type of affair. They get to go gliding and visit RAF bases, that sort of thing."

(and please check IP addresses (mine is 90.214.50.250 - I've just created an account because making so many edits on this page resulted in Wikipedia asking me to sign in/create an account - sorry I'm just bad at Wikipedia still) or any other way you clever lot can possibly think of to satisfy yourself that I have no connection whatever to 'thing'! Which article would you link to in this new entry? Does it mention the use of "Space Cadets" for the RAF cadets? -- JHunterJ (talk) 12:42, 27 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
As an ex-cadet, I can say I certainly never heard this expression. If it can be sourced / referenced then add it, if not there's a reason for that. Stephenjh (talk) 13:59, 27 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
I would link it to the article on the Air Training Corps! (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Air_Training_Corps - see the talk page there, someone has accepted it is slang for them).

To me, 'Space Cadets' = more or less 'The ATC' and 'a Space Cadet' = 'an ATC member'. As I said, I find the lack of substantiating evidence very strange because it is such a natural thing to me. I'm happy that Wikipedia isn't a collection of my thoughts on things, so I won't push it! Bluest Teddy (talk) 01:25, 28 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
