Prose v bulletized history edit

Under WP:BRD I've just reverted a number of edits which turned the history section from the normal prose format into a bullet list. I'm happy to discuss the pros and cons, but the Wiki norm seems to be to use prose format. In fact at WP:LISTBULLET its says"Do not use lists if a passage is read easily as plain paragraphs."   • @Bermicourt: The list format makes it easier to look for any one event, rather than "best essay style", and it includes more of the effects of political events on the railway. railway line vs. railway company edit

Hi, in November 2017 this article about Southern railway, a railway line in today's Austria, and the article Austrian Southern Railway, which used to be about the previous Südbahn-Gesellschaft, were merged. I am not happy with it, these are mostly different subjects. The only common thing is that the line described in this article here was built by this company and operated for a few decades. Most of its history this line was operated by ÖBB etc., the previous Südbahn-Gesellschaft (Austrian Southern Railway), though, built and operated many more lines when it was existing. In my opinion it's hard to handle all this in one article. There were (and are) good reasons for two articles. --Kleeblatt187 (talk) 11:32, 15 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Austrian Southern Railway edit

Dear Kleeblatt187 thank you for your explanation of the problem!!

German and English Wikipedia has article Southern Railway (Austria) about only one part of railway line (who connected Vienna with Trieste, now in territory of Austria, Slovenia and Italy).

At English Wikipedia the new article Austrian Southern Railway was opened, connected with Italian an Slovene Wikipedia and already categorised! The article about about former Südbahn-Gesellschaft was renamed as Austrian Southern Railway Company. So I thing all the problems are solved!!

No, you did not solve the problem described by Kleeblatt187 - I have already solved thatlong ago, by recreating an article for the company. You want to create another article for the whole line to Trieste, in contrast to the current one, which is partly limited to its current Austrian part. However, you need to do this more carefully (e.g., not blanking articles, but moving them!); and please discuss it. --User:Haraldmmueller 07:55, 4 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
