Talk:Sophiology

Untitled edit

I started the article, I hope to continue to flesh it out over the course of the next month or so. I plan on adding a section about origins within the wisdom tradition (Proverbs 1-9, Job 28), Russian sophiology (Soloviev, Bulgakov, Florensky), and contemporary feminist approaches.

Feel free to edit my grammar and spelling, and if anyone else has time or knowledge to spare go for it.

I added the mainstream Orthodox Christian view of Sophiology. Bulgakov's teachings were condemned as heretical and counter to the traditions of the Church. Dogface (talk) 22:38, 26 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

The current information re: Eastern Orthodoxy is extremely biased without any discussion of those who support sophiology (and, no, I am not one). The information which is currently present should certainly be there in some form, but as it stands is entirely one-sided. Pocklecod (talk) 02:42, 7 May 2011 (UTC)pocklecodReply

The information on the Eastern Orthodox view of sophiology represents the general consensus of the Church. That individuals may choose to adopt views condemned as heretical do not mean those views are Orthodox views. There have been Orthodox who engaged in ikonoclasm, Arianism, Nestorianism, etc, but that doesn't mean that these are all Orthodox doctrines.Dogface (talk) 02:03, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
