Because it is the Great Wikipedia Dramaout, I am going to start this article. Before I begin, let me say that I'm not sure yet that the subject is notable, although I do believe so. I don't often start articles, so I'd appreciate help with things like putting in the appropriate stub tags and so on as I (we? I hope others will help me) go along.

I chose this subject because a friend of mine posted this amusing picture to twitpic. It piqued my interest: who made this record? Who is Ann Corio? Who is Sonny Lester? I did a search and quickly found information about Sonny Lester, but not in Wikipedia. So, here we go. Some starting references:

I think Kohs is just screwing around to make a point. He's too smart to sincerely think that is important.

But anyway, there was an interview with Lester in the New York Times in 1993. I can only get an abstract of it with ProQuest, but perhaps someone (Jimbo?) can try to track it down. Here's the info:

Grammy

The New York Times article states that Lester won a Grammy for Jazz for a Sunday Afternoon, but the album is not listed in the official Grammy site's database of winners. This site simply says that Lester was nominated for the album. The album is also listed here as a nominee (but not the winner) for Best Instrumental Jazz Performance - Small Group or Soloist with Small Group.
