I adapted this article from the German wikipedia article w:de:Verein zur Förderung der Luftschifffahrt, rewriting and adding material from other sources. I have rated it Start because although stubby, there is an image and it has good sources and I've put it in a reasonable structure.
Weaknesses are:
several sentences are sourced from the German article, and need non-wikipedia citations
the history needs expanding; I stopped around 1900
the association sponsored several scientific expeditions, one is mentioned, but there were more
