confused location and name

I came here to geocode the article, but got confused. The description says it is in southern Idaho, and gives the Magic Valley as the general area. This seems to be where Snake River is near I-84 in the central southern area. I would understand this area being called Snake River Valley, or something like that, but... Canyon?

U.S. Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System: The GNIS entry for "Snake River Canyon" is along the Oregon-Idaho border and gives the two points in this map, which is 150+ miles NW of the description. Is it describing another canyon? Should this article be named for the primary gnis entry Grand Canyon of the Snake River? Maybe there's another article? —EncMstr (talk) 21:43, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

I apologise, I did not fully understand your post the first time I read it.

The river runs through multiple canyons. What you're seeing along the border of Oregon and Idaho is Hells Canyon. The two other ones are in Idaho (near Twin Falls) and Wyoming (near Jackson Hole), identically named. I don't know why they aren't coming up on the USGS site, but they are there.
