Critical reception edit
Articles about musicals and plays are supposed to be about the works in general so critical reception should be limited to comments about the script and score and shouldn't include references to performances in specific productions. 209.247.22.164 (talk) 16:57, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
- IMO, that is blatantly wrong. While Reception sections should certainly describe the critics' reactions to the script and score, they can also comment on the critics' and audience reactions to particular major productions, as well as box-office response, etc. -- Ssilvers (talk) 23:19, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Smokey Joe's Cafe was a song first edit
40 years before the revue, The Robins (later The Coasters) released Smokey Joe's Cafe (a song written by Leiber and Stoller).
- Surely the article should mention this.
- A 15-year old Grammy notwithstanding, I would think that most ppls looking for the title would be interested in the song, covered by singers like Buddy Holly.
- I believe the eponymous song opened Act II, not Baby That Is Rock & Roll as listed in the article.

Removed some of the hype edit
The 'Productions' section was tagged for reading like an advertisement, and it was indeed full of promotion. I removed the worst of it, but there certainly might be more to do, so I didn't touch the tag. Ale And Quail (talk) 03:26, 4 March 2017 (UTC)
