Hush puppy edit
I pulled the following text from a disambiguation page. If someone can source this, feel free to add it to the article.
- "Hush puppy", nickname for a silenced modification of the Smith & Wesson Model 39, developed during the Vietnam War for use by United States Navy SEALs and designated Mark 22, Mod. O. So named for its intended function of killing enemy watch dogs.
Illinios State Police service edit
A recent edit to the article makes it sound like the Model 39 series and 9x19mm cartridge were short-lived in ISP service. Actually, the 39-series (39, 39-2, and 439) were issued for roughly 20 years. When they were dropped in 1988, it was for the recently introduced 3rd Generation S&W 5904, another 9x19mm model. These serviced on for roughly another decade until replaced by the Glock 22 in .40 S&W. --D.E. Watters (talk) 02:39, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

According to an old edition of the Cartridges of the World the S&W Model 39 was used by the USAF.
