Spoiler tag edit

I don't see any compelling reason for a spoiler tag here - if the plot detail is important enough to go in the lede, then its important enough that it doesn't need a spoiler tag. Otherwise, move it to the plot section, where it still doesn't need a spoiler tag. This isn't exactly a new release... — Carl (CBM · talk) 05:38, 30 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I was somewhat appalled to see that somebody has hacked up the lede. I've restored it. --Tony Sidaway 09:57, 30 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Somewhat appalled? Isn't that a bit dramatic? I'm the one who put the bit about the girl having a penis in the intro. Before doing this, there was no mention of the twist in the entire article. Since the movie has been gaining popularity over the years and a sequel is on the horizon, I thought it was appropriate to include a spoiler tag.

When the spoiler tag was removed, I took the bit out of the intro. I didn't hack up the "lede," which, by the way, is a word used for the first paragraph in newspaper articles, not encyclopedia entries.

Just because it isn't a new release doesn't mean everyone has seen it already. I doubt either of you have. You are just trying to make a point with this article. --YellowTapedR 00:05, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

So what you're saying is you put a spoiler tag in to make a point? - David Gerard 00:12, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, that's not what I said. --YellowTapedR 00:25, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

False film credits edit

Why is the name Marshal Brickman in the credits for? If you watch the film credits at the beginning and end of the film you can clearly see that name isn't apart of the film..Jayjaykeith 04:12, 5 July 2007 (UTC)KaneReply

Clean-up, tightening needed edit

The Plot Summary here is riddled with grammatical errors and awkward structures, and goes way overboard with specifics, particularly in its determined use of specific names. Seriously, for anyone who hasn't seen the movie it's almost impossible to follow along with who is who and what's really important. I don't think it needs to name every individual bit character, and it doesn't need to detail every single scene, as it seems to be doing. Summarizing would help greatly in terms of general readability and cutting out some of the unnecessary repetition to be found in sentences like " When Billy goes to the bathroom, he gets killed when a beehive gets dropped into his stall, causing him to get stung to death by the bees inside." I hesitate to make the changes myself, not actually having seen the movie and thus being a poor judge of how to distribute the summary/detail weight. 98.254.42.152 (talk) 21:48, 17 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Why was Survivor never finished? edit

Why was the sequel called "Sleepaway Camp IV: The Survivor" never finished?

The company went bankrupt during the filming of the movie.

Missing Citations and Information edit

This article is missing citations on several major sections which include the release and sequels sections. These should be given proper citations in order to fix this problem. This article is also missing information on the film's production which should be added to the article as well and the reception section should be expanded with more reviews from notable critics added. All of this needs to happen in order for this article to meet wikipiedia's guidelines of a well balanced and well developed article.--Paleface Jack (talk) 15:57, 18 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Judy edit

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3710646/ IMDb: "Karen Fields reprises her role as unhappy camper, Judy (in this short film follow-up to Sleepaway Camp and Return To Sleepaway Camp) to inflict some bloody revenge on 2 abusive parents." (Apparently she survived the pillow and the curling iron.) Should this be mentioned along with the other sequels? 71.235.184.247 (talk) 22:49, 4 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

While IMDb cannot be used as a source, I will see what I can do.--Filmomusico (talk) 21:40, 11 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Filming location edit

I found no reference to Nyak, NY on the AFI link. The actual filming was in Argyle, NY at a camp that Director Robert Hitszilk has stated in interviews that he attended as a kid. I updated the info with sources.

Unbalanced analysis subsection edit

I have just added an unbalanced tag to the "Analysis" section of the article, which consists only of POV from transgender writers who feel the film is offensive. While this perspective is warranted, it should not make up the entirety of the section; if anything, it should be relegated to its own separate section (i.e. "Criticism" or "controversy") rather than catalogued under a general analysis section; either that, or other analytical writing on the film should be included as well outside the film's representation of gender issues. --Drown Soda (talk) 09:21, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
