Talk:Six Flags Hurricane Harbor (Darien Lake)

New attractions edit

All the new attraction descriptions sound like they were copied straight from DL's website. This needs to be reworded so they are neutrally describing them. →ClarkCTTalk @ 07:45, 20 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Riptide Run, Torpedo Rapids, and Pipeline Plunge edit

The only thing I know about the three slides is that they were apart of Barracuda Bay and they had opened in 1990, but were removed in 1999 and also the area where the slides were is now home to Slingshot in the theme park and more info is needed on the slides that were behind 'Cuda Falls.

Torpedo Rapids / Hydro Force edit

Hydro Force was the name of the slides originally located over the lake, but later RE-NAMED to "Torpedo Rapids" when relocated to Barracuda Bay. These were not two separate slide complexes. Also, it was not a 90 degree drop. 173.171.53.203 (talk) 22:14, 6 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Name change edit

stop changing the page. It will remain splashtown at Darien Lake for the 2020 season. Thank You — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dyll222 (talkcontribs) 23:07, 24 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Dyll222: Splashtown at Darien Lake is not the current name anymore as the water park is being rethemed. Whenever it opens, this year or next, it'll be called Hurricane Harbor. I have the updated the article, to the up to date information currently. --Jpp858 (talk) 00:41, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

According to this source, Splashtown is no more. If the water park reopens this season or next season, it will be called Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. A lot more sources like this should be added as inline citations to the article. --GoneIn60 (talk) 03:51, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Added three (3) sources to the article to reflect the new name/theme of the water park. Added the SFHH logo and removed the rides status of the water slides that is not necessary when it’s in the current list of attractions.--Jpp858 (talk) 04:37, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Howdy! Where is your source that it has been changed? According to the Park website, everything is still Splashtown and will remain for this season. Dyll222 (talk) 12:51, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

I live not far from the park, wahoo wave has been completely removed from the property, which makes me think it’s not happening in 2020 therefore the hurricane harbor rebranding will occur in 2021. It will remain splashtown this year. Dyll222 (talk) 14:17, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

The park announced on August 29, 2019 that Splashtown at Darien Lake will no longer be the name and theme after the 2019 season, according to the source provided by GoneIn60. And the following source, here. They announced a name and retheme of the water park for the 2020 season. Currently its the 2020 season, and unfortunately the water park is not open to showcase whats new. When you go on to the water park page on Darien Lakes website, they haven't updated the site since 2019. Unless there is a source that states that Hurricane Harbor is delayed and when the water park does open in 2020, it will run as "Splashtown at Darien Lake", then I would gladly revert the page back to the previous name. I have not been able to find a source that states such claim. I would say, when Six Flags Darien Lake opens back up (hopefully) with the water park, the water park will run with its new brand, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. For example, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Rockford. Even though, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Rockford is delaying its 2020 capital investments for the park, it open/reopened for the 2020 season with its new name.--Jpp858 (talk) 15:50, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
