Talk:Sittin' on Top of the World (LeAnn Rimes album)

Shouldn't this article be about the song? edit

The song dates back to the 1920s. Zazaban 00:45, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

What you say is largely correct - see Sitting on Top of the World. It was first recorded by the Mississippi Sheiks in 1930. This article should be renamed Sittin' on Top of the World (album) so Sittin' on Top of the World can have a redirect to Sitting on Top of the World (i.e., the song). I swapped this article to a page called Sittin' on Top of the World (album), which is now in place. When I tried to put a re-direct on this page to Sitting on Top of the World (the song) I was stopped from doing so & accused of vandalism (see my response below)

Sittin' on Top of the World edit

I transferred an article about the album by LeAnn Rimes from a page called Sittin' on Top of the World to a page called Sittin' on Top of the World (album), to free up 'Sittin' on Top of the World' so it can be used as a re-direct to this song (usually rendered as 'Sittin' on Top of the World' or 'Sitting on Top of the World'). This seems to be sensible as the song, which has numerous cover-versions, is bigger than LeAnn Rimes' album. If I've done this in an incorrect manner, I apologise. No information was deleted; the sum result was that I tried to add one re-direct, so I cannot see how this can be interpreted as vandalism. Ikeshut 01:10, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've created Sitting on Top of the World (disambiguation) to try to bring some clarity to this. Ikeshut 01:40, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can someone with some sort of authority change the information on this article to a re-direct to Sitting on Top of the World. The information at present in this article is repeated on Sittin' on Top of the World (album) (where it belongs). I don't want to do it in case I get accused of vandalism again. I'm going to move it. I don't have any more authority, but this album shouldn't take precedence over the song. Wait 5 mins --lincalinca 04:00, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Sittinontopoftheworld leannrimes.jpg edit

Image:Sittinontopoftheworld leannrimes.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
