Party change to BJP edit

@Syrriana @Dhruv edits, He is AITC MP, his bio claims he changed his party. It is not possible without resigning from MP post. These edits by Syrriana, should not have been done without using a reliable source. Venkat TL (talk) 08:38, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Venkat TL I agree. Dhruv edits (talk) 09:45, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Syrriana Don't make unsourced edits at List of members of the 17th Lok Sabha. Adding 'Rebel member' is unconstructive. They all are INC MPs and will remain until they officially quit the party. Dhruv edits (talk) 10:11, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Venkat TL see in the same case of Mukul Roy also won in the BJP and then joined TMC but he is Counted as TMC Mla not BJP. In the case of Sisir Adhikari he officially joined the BJP on 16th March 2021 During 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election Syrriana (talk) 10:28, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Syrriana In this article it says that Adhikari did not accept BJP flag on the dais. So he is not officially notifying the speaker about change. Already one year has passed is there any new development in this case? Did TMC take any action? Venkat TL (talk) 11:06, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Venkat TL I agree but if he didn't hold the Flag then his seat is disputed as he neither resigned or attended any meetings of TMC so in that case at least we can call him Rebel Member of TMC. Syrriana (talk) 11:33, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Syrriana No, we cannot call him anything. Please read WP:BLP. It is the most strictly followed rule of Wikipedia that you are violating. The rule is that we cannot write anything about living person unless a reliable source first publishes it. There are other rules too on that page, but this is the most important one. As far as I can see, his party status is not formally changed. The Speaker has not disqualified him. In this case, we can write using Telegraph article as source that On XYZ Date, he stated this and that. But we should not change his party status or RS membership. Unless a reliable source claims that he is No longer an AITC MP. Venkat TL (talk) 12:31, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
