SimonidesSimonides (disambiguation) — I propose that Simonides be changed to a redirect to Simonides of Ceos, and the current content be transferred to Simonides (disambiguation) which already exists as a redirect to Simonides. I would argue that Simonides of Ceos is the primary use of "Simonides", as the incoming links to Simonides [1] would appear to confirm - all of them need redirecting to Simonides of Ceos, and changing Simonides to a redirect would fix this issue. • Support as nominator. Tevildo (talk) 19:32, 9 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • Support, and recommend a subsequent move of Simonides of Ceos; in fact, I'm not sure we need a dab page at all. Semonides is a different name, and so is Constantine Simonides; a hatnote would save readers clicks, and is all we need. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 01:18, 10 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
    • I think we should keep the main article at Simonides of Ceos; Simonides is a contemporary Greek surname, and it's possible that another Simonides might come to prominence during the lifetime of the project. There was a Constantine B. Simonides, vice-president of the MIT corporation, who died in 1994 [2] - an article on him is not beyond the bounds of possibility, so I think we need to keep the dab page. That is an argument for the dab page, but we should still move Simonides; he is WP:PRIMARYUSAGE, and if he ceases to be, we can move him back. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 17:28, 10 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
      • Yeah - the only practical effect will be the type of hatnote we use. I have no _objection_ to the main article being at Simonides, neither am I actively supporting this proposal - as long as Simonides isn't the dab page. Tevildo (talk) 23:02, 10 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
